After it's claimed there's been a big rise in parents in Hull abusing parking wardens outside the city's schools, there's calls for action today.

Some parents we spoke to say they want to see more parking spaces, as more and more of them are illegally parking up outside the school gates.

Southcoates Primary is just one of the schools where mums and dads have been parking illegally and then threatening traffic officers if they've been fined.

Hull City Council say the problem is on the rise in the city and have been looking into what they can do to resolve the situation.

Jodie takes her young son to Southcoates Primary and says giving parents more parking spaces would help solve the issue. She told Viking:

"People are either parking on double yellows or just parking on the pavement because there is nowhere to park or if you are able to park, you are having to park quite far away to pick your child up so I think there should be more space around here.

"Parents just want to park closer to the school to pick their child up and they're only here for two minutes so parents are going to get angry if they get fined for it.

"I know the parking wardens are only doing their job but parents are going to get frustrated, getting a fine for picking their child up.

"There needs to be more parking a nd I don't see why there isn't around here, there doesn't need to be all these yellow lines. We would just find it much easier to pick our children up and we wouldn't have to park on the pavement or double yellows.

"If I don't get here early, I wouldn't be able to get parked down here to pick my child up."
