The boys will be replaced with another contestant
The Brooks were temporarily suspended from The X Factor at the weekend when accusations emerged that Josh has been violent to his ex-girlfriend, but now it has been confirmed the boys will not be returning and have been permanently axed from the show.
Speaking on This Morning, The Xtra Factor presenter Rylan Clark Neal confirmed the news when he said, “The boys won’t be returning to the competition. They won’t be coming back but they will be replaced by another group. I can’t say. I can’t say anything.”
Following on from Rylan’s confirmation, Josh Brooks released an official statement saying, “I’ve decided that it’s best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved.”

Just last night (Sunday 9th October), the twins broke their silence on the controversy when they took to Twitter to claim it was a ‘false allegation’. They said, 'Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation. Don't believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth'.
They then added 'The truth always wins'.
A national newspaper reported that Josh was accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend when she told him not to walk on the new carpets at her parents’ house.
Despite this, Amelia then admitted she didn't 'sell her story' and seemingly denied all of the shocking' claims. She said, “For anyone reading today’s article I DID NOT sell it! If you read it, it’s written by a friend who has obviously profited from the stories. I’m just as shocked and hurt as many of you reading it are, but I DID NOT SELL IT.”
X Factor bosses are set to announce the news of who will replace the boys in the coming days.
The show continues on Saturday 15th October.
