Police in Bridgend say an injured woman and officers trying to help her were pelted with snowballs by a group of around 25 to 30 teenagers.

It happened on Heol Y Nant and the road was closed until the injured lady was taken to hospital.

On Twitter, South Wales Police said:

"The youths - a 'gathering' of 25/30 teens (mostly boys) seemed to think it was a game. Luckily for them our priority was the lady who was injured - not them!"

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in place across the region until 11 this morning.
