A young woman has appeared in court in Llanelli accused of killing a six-month-old baby in an alleged drink-drive crash.
Lucy Dyer, 23, was behind the wheel when she allegedly smashed into a family car with baby Eva Maria Nichifor inside in a child seat
The family were travelling in a blue Vauxhall Vectra when they were hit by the 3 Series BMW on a busy crossroads.
A court heard the crash took place in Llanelli, South Wales, on Friday night.
Dyer appeared at Llanelli magistrates court charged with causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
The mother-of-one, from Llanelli, is now set to appear at Swansea Crown Court on November 12.
Eva's parents Carmen and Florin, who came to Carmarthen from Romania three years ago, paid tribute to their daughter following her death.
Mum Carmen, a healthcare assistant, said: “It took all the happiness. It destroyed my family.
“The house is empty without her. Our souls are burned on the inside.”
She added: “I hope God takes care of her because our pain is indescribable.”
A fundraising page has raised over £9,000 for the heartbroken parents. Flowers and children's toys have been laid on the roadside grass verge.
