Woman Dies After Serious Assault
Police launch murder investigation
A murder investigtion's been launched following the death of a 48-year-old woman in Swansea.
Helen Bannister was the victim of a serious assault in Mayhill on December 1.
The mother-of-two died in hospital.
A 37-year-old man has been charged with GBH with intent.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Helen Bannister was a loved mother of two children who will be dearly missed by her heart broken family.
"A murder investigation has now commenced and her family continue to be supported by specialist officers. They have asked for privacy at this sad time.
"A 37-year-old man has previously been remanded by the court after being charged with GBH with intent.
"We would like to remind people of the importance of not posting anything on social media which could prejudice future court proceedings and urge you to please take care over any comments being made.
"We continue to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to please contact us via 101 quoting occurrence 2000437219."
