Wales' Deputy Minister for Social Services is to issue an apology to mothers who were forced to give their children up for adoption.
It happened to tens of thousands of unmarried women across the UK from 1949 until 1976.
Often they were deemed to be unsuitable mothers simply because of their marital status.
Julie Morgan will say sorry on behalf of the Welsh Government in the Senedd this afternoon for the failures in society that led to these historical practices.
There are now calls for the UK government to also apologise.
