Health Minister Vaughan Gething will reveal milestones

Health Minister Vaughan Gething will today publish the Welsh Government’s Covid Vaccination Plan.

It will set out a series of milestones for when people will be offered a vaccine.

The ambitious plan will describe how all eligible adults will be vaccinated in the biggest programme of its kind.

It comes as Wales will publish daily vaccination figures from today – more than 70,000 people had received their first dose of the Covid vaccine by the end of last week.

From today 75 GP practises are delivering jabs that'll be increased to 100 by Friday and 250 by the end of the month.

It's hoped the top 4 priority groups will have had the first dose of the vaccine by the middle of next month.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has said it's not useful to compare Wales with other UK nations in terms of how quickly people can be vaccinated:

"Vaccination is neither a sprint nor a contest. We will roll out vaccination here in Wales as quickly as we are able in order to make sure that over the weeks ahead the maximum number of people in those priority groups are vaccinated."

14 mobiles units are in place across Wales to help deliver vaccinations in care homes.

The UK Government is buying vaccines on behalf of the 4 nations..with Wales receiving its population share.
