A spike in the number of coronavirus deaths in Wales is down to a delay in reporting from the Cwm Taf Morgannwg health board - according to Public Health Wales

Daily figures released yesterday (Saturday) recorded 627 new positive cases and 21 deaths.

We're told there was a delay in reporting 17 deaths from the period between Saturday 3rd Ocotober and Wednesday 7th October.

The health board has seen outbreaks within the Royal Glamorgan hospital in Llantrisant, Princess of Wales in Bridgend and the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr.

Bangor is the latest place in Wales to see tighter coronavirus restrictions.

Currently, the local lockdown applies only to the city rather than across the whole of Gwynedd.
