A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash on the A48 in Cardiff earlier this year.

The 32 year old was taken in on suspicion of dangerous driving - and driving whilst disqualified - in the St Mellons area in the early hours of the 4th of March.

3 people died in the collision - Rafel Jeanne and passengers Darcy Ross and Eve Smith.

Detectives say he's being detained in connection with the same vehicle - and not in connection with the deadly collision itself.

He has now been bailed by the police, pending further inquiries following the incident, which happened at 02:03 in the morning.

Their families have been informed of the arrest and continue to be supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Davies of South Wales Police said: “The arrest was made as a result of evidence identified by officers investigating the fatal collision and involves the same vehicle.

“Our detailed investigation is continuing which will enable us to provide the facts of what happened during the early hours of Saturday 4th March.

“Our thoughts continue to be with the families and all those affected by this tragic incident.”
