Knife Angel Statue Makes its Home in Newport
The anti-knife crime statue constructed out of 100,000 knives will be available for all of November

The statue known as the ‘knife angel’ will make its home in Newport over November.
The 27ft statue stands as an anti-knife crime monument, and it is made of over 100,000 knives that were convocated of off the streets of the UK.
The statue was commissioned by the British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry and was designed and created by artists Alfie Bradly.
The sculpture is currently on a tour of the UK, spending one month in different towns and cities. Its home for October was fellow Welsh city Wrexham, and spent June based in Aberystwyth. The tour is a part of the National Youth Anti-Violence Education Program.
The statue will be free to see at Friars Walk.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert said: “The Knife Angel is a reminder for us all of the devastating impact that violence and aggression can have on communities.
“I would encourage residents from across Gwent to come and pay a visit to the Knife Angel during November.”
The knife angel’s visit will go alongside a series of events across Gwent, targeted at children and young people.
