Rhys James, Quinn and Will were having the time of their lives. They had just completed a spell teaching English to Italian schoolchildren before embarking on a two week holiday which enabled them to travel. At the end of their break Rhys and Quinn started feeling unwell. They went to a test centre and all three tested positive for Coronavirus - including Rhys who had shown no symptoms.

Rhys told us: "The rules in Italy are different to the UK. Once you get a positive result you cannot return to your accommodation. The authorities put you in hotels which have been converted into hospital facilities. You can only leave once you have tested negative twice in a row."

Rhys, Quinn and Will have been moved three times to different locations. The group are now in a hotel which has WiFi which means they are able to keep in touch with family and friends. They felt very isolated when they had no access to the internet.

"We are not are not allowed to mix with anyone else and must stay in our own room at all times" Rhys said. "Food is left outside our door. The only thing we are sure of is that every Monday we are tested. Each week that happens and each week the result comes back positive."

"We feel stranded. We want the Foreign Office to help us."
