Ex Wales football captain Gareth Bale will be making appearance at Wales's home game against Latvia on Tuesday.

Gareth Bale lead Wales to their first World Cup since 1958 in November and scored 41 goals for his country before announcing his retirement in January.

The surprise appearance was announced via twitter by the Welsh football team.

Thousands of fans will have the opportunity at the Cardiff City Stadium before the match to show their appreciation to the Cardiff-born football legend

Wales face Latvia in their European Championships qualifier, hoping for their first home win since the World Cup.

Since the World Cup, several key players who played a role in Wales's success in the 2016 Euros have announced their retirement, including Gareth Bale, Joe Allen and Chris Gunter.

The red wall is already hopeful after Wales's 1-1 draw against World Cup semi-finalists Croatia on Saturday despite relying on a much younger squad, with multiple players making their international debuts.

It couldn't have been a better match for Nathan Broadhead in his international debut, scoring his first goal for Wales in the 93rd minute.

Fans are now hoping to recreate the same magic, facing Latvia on Tuesday.
