Leaders of all UK nations are meeting this weekend to discuss the record numbers of coronavirus cases in recent days - and the spread of the new variant, Omicron.

93-thousand positive infections were reported yesterday - with the Omicron variant now dominant in Scotland and London.

It's expected the new variant will be the dominant strain in Wales by the New Year.

Yesterday, Mark Drakeford announced new restrictions that will come into force in Wales from the 27th - including closing nightclubs.

New restrictions will apply to shops, workplaces and businesses - including one-way systems, barriers and a two-metre rule for social distancing.

The First Minister has also urged people to space out their social gatherings and to do lateral flow tests before you go.

He's already warned further restrictions may be needed as cases of Omicron rise.
