He had hoped to start shooting the tale about Captain Scott's ill-fated South Pole expedition last year - but then the pandemic hit.
It follows the footsteps of Welsh petty officer Edgar Evans, who grew up in Rhossili before heading off to sea.

Tom told us "The message of the film is 'don't judge a book by its cover.'
"Edgar was a man's man. He was a heavy drinker. He was a womanizer, he had a wife with three children and a girlfriend with children as well. He was a bare knuckle fist fighter.
"Scott adored him and wanted him on his expedition to Antarctica. There was no doubt there was animosity between other officers and Edgar. Edgar not being an officer, he was a petty officer. Edgar falling off the boat drunk obviously did not help things."

Swansea boxer Tyler Ford who is the great-great-grandson of Edgar will play him as a young boy.
He cannot wait to start shooting and told us: "It is pretty cool playing him as he is my great-great-grandfather. Mostly why I became a boxer was because of him.
"I think it's going to be pretty easy to play this role because I've known about him (Edgar) all my life.
