Cause of death of the man convicted of killing Mandy Power and her family has not been confirmed
The man convicted of the Clydach murders has died in prison
David Morris, who was 59, was convicted of killing three generations of the same family in their Kelvin Road home in 1999.
Morris was sentenced to 32 years in jail for killing Mandy Power, her 10 year-old daughter Katie and Emily, was eight, and her mother Doris Dawson, who was 80.
A Prison Service spokesperson said:
“HMP Long Lartin prisoner David Morris died on August 20. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed.”
Morris’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
A statement from the Ministry of Justice said:
“The cause of death is a matter for the coroner.”
Morris had always protested his innocence. A bid to take his case to the Court of Appeal was rejected in 2018 by the Criminal Cases Review Commission.
