Concerts cancelled as St David's Hall announces temporary closure amid concrete scare

A major venue in Cardiff is closing its doors with immediate effect as the concrete crisis extends to more public buildings.
St Davids Hall is expected to remain shut for four weeks to allow for structural surveys to be carried out.
It means upcoming shows by the likes of Dexys Midnight Runners, Linidisfarne and Graham Nash are all likely to be cancelled.
The Council has been aware of the presence of RAAC at the concert hall since 2021.
A statement on St David's Hall's website stated: "The decision has been taken in light of the recent change to advice on RAAC in public buildings issued by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and following further discussions with the Council’s appointed independent structural engineers, and the council’s insurers."
