Australian man attempts a 73-hour world record but forgets to check one thing!

When Australian Shayne Barwick decided to raise money for his beloved bowling club he thought he would try breaking a world record.
Unfortunately for Shayne when he was doing his research he misread the information. Believing the existing record for continuous bowling was 73 hours he started to get sponsorship for his record attempt.
However before his attempt took place Shayne found out that actually there was no record for what he was attempting!
"I was reading in the Guinness Book of rules and regulations and I thought it said 73 hours to beat (the record). But it wasn't - it was the age of some bloke," Mr Barwick told a local newspaper, The North West Star.
There was in fact no record for singles bowling after all!
Despite his findings he still went ahead and completed a full 73 hours of continuous bowling (with a 10 minute break every four hours).
Shayne hoped to raise around £12,000 for his bowling club.
