What is it?
The North Sea Tall Ships Regatta is being held for only the second time in six years and marks the diamond anniversary of The Tall Ships Races. Some of the largest and most spectacular Tall Ships in the world will sail into Blyth providing a fantastic maritime celebration for the region, and after the Regatta, the ships will then depart on the 500-mile nautical race from Blyth to Gothenburg in Sweden.
Where is it?
This year’s Tall Ships Regatta is taking place in the bustling port town of Blyth in South East Northumberland. The Port of Blyth is a tidal deep water port which can accommodate the largest Class A ships and offer first-class amenities, making it an ideal host port for the Regatta.
When is it?
The four-day event is from Friday 26th to Monday 29th August.
What is there?
Included in this fantastic maritime celebration is live music, street theatre, a Crew Parade and a spectacular Parade of Sail where you can see the dramatic sight of the fleet under full sail. You can relax on the beach, explore Northumberland village and enjoy the range of food and drink on offer. There will be funfair rides throughout the town, a market place in the town centre and even firework displays each evening (Friday-Sunday) at 9pm.
What ships are attending?
With ships attending from Norway, Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands and UK it will be a truly international event. During the event there will be 1.5miles of entertainment, split into 5 huge entertainment zones.
Can I go onboard?
Yes, many of the ships will be open to the public for a unique opportunity to explore on deck and learn about life aboard these giants of the sea.

Visitors will be able to access park & ride services only.
