Update on Arrests in relation to Billingham Firearms Incidents Inquiries

A 20 year old man arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life was released with no further action in relation to this offence.

However following the discovery of what is believed to be a significant amount of Class A drugs (suspected cocaine) and Class B drugs (suspected cannabis and suspected amphetamine), the 20 year old was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and one count of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He was remanded in custody, to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 21st August.

A 40 year old man arrested Saturday on suspicion of production of Class B drugs has now been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

A 19 year old man arrested on suspicion of criminal damage recklessly endangering life has been released with no further police action.

Meanwhile, a 38 year old woman who was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice has been released with no further police action.
