Two arrested after body found in North Ormesby

Police remain in the Dorothy Street area of North Ormesby after the discovery of a woman's body in a propery yesterday.

Officers attended the address when a member of the public reported concerns for a person inside.

Sadly on arrival, the body of a woman was discovered and inquiries into the circumstances of her death, which is currently being treated as suspicious, have begun.

Police say:

"We appreciate people in the neighbourhood will be concerned and we would reassure them that a man and a woman have been arrested and are in police custody.

We do not currently believe there is any wider risk to the public.

A cordon has been put in place and we appreciate local residents’ co-operation at this time.

Extra patrols remain in the area for reassurance and anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting Event 181109"
