Man admits killing Italian couple in Thornaby days before Christmas

A man's admitted killing an Italian couple days before Christmas in Thornaby.

21 year old Andrea Cardinale's pleaded guilty to manslaughter following the deaths of Antonino Calabro (26) and Francesca Di Dio (20) - on grounds of diminished responsibility.

They were found dead in a flat on the 21st of December last year.

Mr Cardinale appeared by video-link from Durham Prison, and will remain in custody until his next appearance later this summer.
