Teesside International Airport has been closed "until further notice," after an incident this morning (25th September 2021).

It happened at 09.39am, involving a light aircraft.

A pilot and two passengers, who were on board, have been taken to hospital.

The runway is remaining closed while an investigation is carried out.

In a statement on social media, the airport added: 'We would like to thank the emergency services, on site staff for their quick response.'

A flight from Faro, due to land at Teesside International at 11.40am, diverted to Newcastle.
