Police re-appeal for information after a dog walker is targeted in Thornaby

Police are continuing to appeal for information after a female dog walker was targeted in Thornaby.

The incident happened around 5:45pm on Saturday 2nd October when a man grabbed at a woman out walking her dog in Thornaby in the area shown on the map below, in a field behind Cheeky Monkees Day Nursery, known as the “Dene field”.

The woman was making her way towards Northallerton Road when she was approached by an unknown man who engaged her in conversation before grabbing her, pulling at her clothing.

The lady hit him and ran off and the man walked away.

The suspect is described as white, around 40 years old with a shaved head with a small amount of hair at the sides. He is at least 6 feet tall, of a broad build and was wearing all black. He had a medium sized black and white dog with him.

Detectives have received calls from members of the public and are working through the information received and local neighbourhood officers have been carrying out patrols in the area in order to reassure the local community.
