Police appeal for witnesses after a woman is hit by a car in Redcar

The 71-year-old was struck on the Esplanade by Newcomen Terrace

Police are appealing after a collision involving a 71-year-old female pedestrian in Redcar.

The incident happened around 1.30pm on Monday 26th July on the Esplanade in Redcar at the junction with Newcomen Terrace.

A silver Ford Focus was involved in the collision with the woman. She suffered a head injury and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact PC Jayson Morris from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 124338.
