Arrest after alleged sexual assaults on young girls in Thornaby

Police have this morning (Mon 22nd Oct) arrested a 57-year-old man from the Redcar area on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault, after an allegation of an incident involving two young girls in Thornaby on Saturday 20th October.
The man remains in police custody at this time.
The incidents happened at around 1.35pm on Saturday October 20th in Imperoal Avenue close to the junction of Langley Avenue.
DI Jon Tapper said: “This is clearly a very serious incident and we’re appealing for anyone who may have information to contact us. Our officers are providing a reassuring presence in the area as part of our investigation.”
