A cafe worker from Middlesbrough has set up a petition calling for her employers to stop wasting food.

Faye Mussett, from Middlesbrough, says throwing away perfectly good food makes her feel 'awful'.

Instead, she says food should be given to families in need or donated to foodbanks.

Around 1 in 3 children in the North East live in poverty.

Faye's petition has been signed by almost 100 people.

She says it's not right to throw away perfectly good food.

She said: "It's just needless.

"It's food that could be given to somebody who needs it.

"And every time I throw that food away, that's all I'm thinking about."
