Man and woman arrested after child dies in Darlington

A man and woman has been arrested after a child suffered serious injuries and died in hospital in Darlington.
The youngster was found in a critical condition on Friday night.
Durham Police said:
‘A man in his 30s has also been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing serious injury to a child, and has been further arrested for murder.
‘A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing serious injury to a child.
‘Both remain in police custody while further inquiries are carried out.’
