Man, 24, sentenced to 12 months at Teesside Crown Court for voyeurism
Corey Brown was also charged with making indecent images of a child
A 24-year-old man who was charged with three counts of voyeurism and two counts of making indecent images of a child has been sentenced at Teesside Crown Court to 12 months in prison.
Corey Brown was arrested after police received concerns early in 2022 and as thorough enquiries got underway, the victim and their family received support from our specially trained officers.
Officer in the case, CAVA (Child Abuse and Vulnerable Adult) Detective Constable Diane Lee, said:
“Brown completely betrayed this child’s trust and I’d like to commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward.
“I hope today’s result will reassure her that she did the right thing and I wish her and her family the very best going forward.”
Safeguarding Detective Chief Inspector Matt Murphy-King added:
“We all have a duty to protect vulnerable children from those who would seek to abuse them via any means.
“I would encourage anyone affected by similar offences to come forward and seek help. You will be believed and you will be supported while my officers work with partner agencies including the CPS to bring perpetrators before the courts.
“You can report to Cleveland Police any time via 101 or via our website. Or you can provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning them on 0800 555 111.”
