Acklam Road incident update

Officers were called to a report of an incident whereby a woman had suffered serious burns at an address on Acklam Road in Middlesbrough at 12:40pm yesterday, Tuesday 13th November.

A 35-year-old woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital and then transferred to the RVI Hospital in Newcastle with injuries which are described as ‘life threatening’. She remains there in a ‘critical but stable’ condition.

A 34-year-old man who had also suffered serious burn injuries, although not believed to be life threatening, continues to receive treatment at James Cook University Hospital.

Enquiries are ongoing, however, officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.
