One Direction are on course to score the UK’s fastest selling album of 2013 with ‘Midnight Memories’!

!According to the Official Chart Company’s latest sales data, Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall’s pop-tastic third album has sold an astonishing 145,000 copies in its first three days of going on sale.

That gargantuan figure is just short of the current fastest seller of the year, Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’, which sold 165,000 in seven days.

A dead cert for number one, ‘Midnight Memories’ is also outselling Gary Barlow’s first album in 14 years, ‘Since I Saw You Last’, by more than two copies to one.

Last week’s chart-conqueror and the 1000th UK no.1 since the charts began, Robbie Williams’ ‘Swings Both Ways’, is currently sitting pretty at number three on the Midweeks.

Olly Murs’s re-released ‘Right Place Right Time’ has climbed an impressive 92 spots to number four, while Boyzone’s comeback album ‘BZ 20’ completes the top five.

When ‘Midnight Memories’ claims the chart crown on Sunday it will be One Direction’s second number one after ‘Take Me Home’ stormed to the summit last November.

Despite going on to sell over a million copies, One Direction’s 2011 debut ‘Up All Night’ only peaked at no.2.

The midweek chart Top 10 is as follows:

1. One Direction ‘Midnight Memories’ 2. Gary Barlow ‘Since I Saw You Last’ 3. Robbie Williams ‘Swings Both Ways’ 4. Olly Murs ‘Right Place Right Time’ 5. Boyzone ‘BZ 20’ 6. Eminem ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ 7. Susan Boyle ‘Home For Christmas’ 8. Celine Dion ‘Loved Me Back To Life’ 9. Elvis Presley ‘The Nation’s Favourite Elvis Songs’ 10. Bastille ‘Bad Blood’
