UPDATE: Woman arrested after fatal Middlesbrough hit and run
A 65-year-old local woman has been arrested after a fail-to-stop collision following which an 84-year-old woman sadly died.
The incident happened in the car park area of the Parkway Shopping Centre, opposite KFC, shortly before 11am on Wednesday 7th December and the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
The woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
She remains in police custody at this time.
Officers can also now confirm the identity of the woman who sadly died, as 84-year-old Olwyn Fulton.
Olwyn was a mother to two children, a son and a daughter, and a grandmother to ten grandchildren.
