Search continues for missing Stockton grandad two weeks on
David Welsh was last seen walking past the Castlegate Shopping Centre in Stockton on Tuesday 8th December.
Two weeks on from the last sighting of Stockton grandad David Welsh, police confirm the search is continuing.
The 61-year-old was last seen on CCTV walking past the Castlegate Shopping Centre in Stockton at 8pm on Tuesday 8th December.
He was travelling towards Riverside Road and had visited two pubs prior to this sighting.
Police are reissuing an appeal for information which could help locate David, after they distributed missing posters to businesses along Stockton High Street.
Detective Inspector Glen Westmoreland said: “Our concerns for David grow with each day that passes.
"It is now two weeks on from the last sighting of David and myself and the team remain focussed on finding him.
"I’d like to stress that this is very much an active missing person investigation and enquiries are still ongoing. “As part of a number of enquiries that we have carried out, we have viewed hours of CCTV footage, spoken to a number of local businesses and have checked with guest houses and people working in local transport who may have seen him."
The 61-year-old had a difficult time in recent years, after his daughter Aimee was killed in a car crash in 2008.
His wife Sheila then died from cancer in 2013, leaving him devastated.
Anyone with any information about where David could be should contact Cleveland Police on 101.
