It was organised by steelworkers' union Community, alongside Unite and GMB.
The unions say they want to government to set out an industry action plan and to ensure the sale of Tata Steel's UK plants is done responsibly.
Hartlepool Steel Mill is one of those up for sale, around 500 are employed there.
John Stead is one of them and he'll be at the march today.
He said: "There's been a number of marches in various place across the country over the last couple of years, regarding the steel industry.
"We have been making noise for a couple of years now that the steel industry is in crisis.
"It only seems to be now after the incident in Teesside with SSI that the government are starting to take notice about what's going on."
