Police are releasing an E-fit of a man that they want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault in Middlesbrough.

The incident took place at around 12.15pm on Tuesday 17th February as an 18-year-old woman was making her way along Stephenson Street towards Borough Road. She was approached by a man who grabbed her and made sexually explicit comments towards her.

A female member of the public intervened to assist the victim and left the scene without leaving her details. Officers have previously appealed to find this Good Samaritan, however, she has not come forward.

Police would again like to appeal for this woman to contact them as she may be able to assist with enquiries.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his late thirties to early forties, around 5ft 6” to 5ft 7” tall, of slim build, with short blonde hair and missing upper and lower teeth.

Anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the man in the E-fit or the identity of the Good Samaritan is asked to contact DC Andy Bean or DS Guy Newnam from Middlesbrough Volume Crime Team on 101. Witnesses are also asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
