In just two days the Facebook post received over 22,000 shares.
When Karen Jones posted in a local Facebook group she didn't expect this response.
As Karen explains in her post, "My autistic son is 15 shortly ... hes just told me he loves opening cards to extent he's made himself a couple." sic (Pictured below)

Karen and her son Ollie come from a small family so she asked if the local people from Exmouth, Devon could send a spare card to make her son happy on his birthday. "if you have an old one at back of cupboard maybe you could send it to him?? sic "need be here for Saturday - thank you" she said.
Just two days later her Facebook post has been shared over 22,800 times and thousands of cards have arrived in the post. There were so many cards delivered today that it needed two postmen and numerous crates to transport everything and even more are expected in the coming days as Ollie's birthday isn't until Saturday.
Karen told a local newspaper that she had been "moved to tears" from the response having received cards from all over the UK.
The request for cards has also moved to Twitter with the hashtag #cards4Ollie being used and many users posting photos of the cards they are going to send to the Devon teenager.
Happy 15th Birthday Ollie for Saturday!
