After much speculation on Twitter, KFC have now confirmed that they will be bringing back the infamous Double Down, the bunless burger which took the UK by storm last October.

Last year fans were able to sample the delights of the Double Down and according to the chicken restaurant they have since received continuous tweets and social mentions about it.

KFC queue

Confirming the news in a press release KFC said, "KFC today confirms the critically acclaimed, award-winning Double Down makes its long-awaited return to the menu this Monday 2nd July."

They went on to say, "The news is bitter-sweet, as the chicken aficionados confirm the Double Down will only be available in restaurants for 21 days."

A KFC spokesperson also revealed that they had been "inundated with thousands of tweets demanding the Double Down return to the UK".

Before its limited introduction last year, the Double Down was already massively popular in US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and at the time fans were extremely excited by the prospect of the chance to get their hands on the bunless burger.

As the news is spreading of yet another limited window for the Double Down, fans have once again been taking to Twitter saying, 'Wait what... ITS COMING BACK?! 😍🔥' sic.

The KFC official Twitter account have also been quick to reply to old fan tweets with gifs and witty messages such as, 'KFC Double Down bringing families together since 2017... 😏'.
