Met Office issue yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across England
There is a small chance of flooding and disruption due to intense rain
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across most of England.
Meteorologists from the service have said that flooding is likely across much of the country due to intense rainfall.
In total, it is believed that as much as 40 millimetres could fall in less than one hour, with some areas having as much as 75 millimetres falling.
As well as this, there is a likelihood of frequent lightning strikes that could cause added disruption - particularly across central and southern England.
The full area of the weather warning stretches across the centre of the country, running from the North East, through the North West, the Midlands to the South Coast.
In a statement, the Met Office said: "A small chance of flooding and disruption from heavy showers and thunderstorms on Sunday in a few places."
As well as this, the Met Office said there is the possibility of power cuts that could cause disruption to homes and businesses.
Transport could also be affected, with cancellations to bus and train services expected across the affected area.
