Crufts is back in Birmingham at the NEC for another year of dog competitions.

Over 24,000 dogs of all shapes and sizes will be taking part in Crufts.

Around 220 different breeds will be competing for a chance to win Best in Show.

As well, a new class has been brought in this year for the Bavarian Mountain Hound for the first time.

But this year the competition might be different for some of those competing.

Emily is competing with her Irish Wolfhound, Ragner, she said: "I know that dog shows have taken a bit of a hit over the past year.

"Especially, with the the cost of living and cost of travel.

"I think the change for me I suppose will be probably not seeing as many competitors."

As well as the varied competitions and activities, Crufts also features the Discover Dogs zone, where visitors can meet and greet hundreds of four-legged friends, speak to experts in each breed about what they are like to live with and care for, and find out which breed might be best suited to their lifestyle.

This year, Crufts is proud to be supporting the Stand Up To Cancer Walkies Challenge, and is encouraging people to spend more time with their four-legged friends whilst raising vital funds.

Crufts and Stand Up To Cancer are asking dog owners to step up to the challenge of walking 60 miles across the month of April while fundraising for Cancer Research UK, who will receive 100% of the money raised, and are urging visitors and competitors to pledge their support at the event.

The show will run from today until March 12.
