The charity legend that is SpeedoMick (real name Michael Cullen) has finally finished his mammoth 2,500-mile trek on home turf in Liverpool today.

Speedomick celebrated his 57th birthday by completing his challenge at the Pier Head this afternoon with a big fanfare to celebrate his achievement.

Speaking to Tay FM, the Everton fan said: "Even though I never think about giving up, I'm never sure I'm going to make it to the end. I might've gone home a bit early sometimes, if I wouldn't have been encouraged to carry on. Thank you to everybody for all the donations and the support over the years.

"It's been a long one this. It's been much much tougher than I thought it was going to be.

"I'm just buzzing. I'm dead excited, I'm just gonna keep myself calm to be honest. There's a lot of activity and a lot of interviews as well. I'm just thrilled really to be finishing the walk. I'm by the museum where I'm going to be handing myself in to!

"My body's just saying 'go and have a lie down for about three months.

"I saw a sign for Warrington the other day and I just got dead upset. Now I'm in Liverpool, so I'm overwhelmed, thrilled to be finishing, and just grateful of all the support."

"I could sneak my clothes on but I won't do it"

SpeedoMick has battled the harsh winter weather, wearing very little and carrying all his clothes in his bag.

The Everton fan told Tay FM that he always fought off the temptation of putting his clothes on, regardless if there was nobody there to flag it up.

"In a minute I'm going to put my clothes on any second", Mick said.

"My clothes are in my bag, the temptation is always there for me to put my clothes on because they're only on my back! I'm down country lanes, there's not a soul there it's just a bunch of sheep, and I can hear the cows, and so I could sneak my clothes on but I won't do it."
