It's 04:15am and the Renfrewshire result was announced around 10 minutes ago in favour of No (No: 52.8%, Yes: 47.2%).

The room was filled with hundreds of people from both camps, all anxiously awaiting result, then the room seemed to empty straight after the announcement by chief counting officer David Martin.

No campaigners were hugging and high-fiving each other and members of Yes sharing commiserations.

The local administration in Renfrewshire was run by and SNP/Lib Dem coalition until 2012 when Labour took over, so it was always going to be a close one.

It was a privilege to be part of what is sure to be the most important night in Scotland's history.
