The Prime Minister has thanked the emergency services for their quick response, after an explosion involving a vehicle outside Liverpool Women's Hospital yesterday (14th November).

The male passenger of the car was declared dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The driver, also a man, was injured at the scene and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tweeted his response to the incident:

Last night, Police arrested three men in Kensington under the Terrorism Act.

Counter-terrorism officers said they continue to keep an open mind about the cause of the explosion and are working closely with Merseyside Police.

Last night, a number of properties were evacuated on Rutland Avenue, near Sefton Park. Police have confirmed that is in connection with the explosion.
