A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and fraud after the body of a 65-year-old was found at an address in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said a second suspect had also been arrested on suspicion of fraud after inquiries found the victim's bank card had been used after his death.
The force said in a statement: "We have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found in Erdington.
"We were alerted by a concerned relative, and a safe and well check was carried out at a property on Baldmoor Lake Road just after 9am on Tuesday.
"Sadly the 65-year-old occupant was found deceased inside.
"A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of his death.
"Our inquiries revealed the man's bank card had been used since his death and we have now arrested two men - a 25-year-old is being questioned on suspicion of murder and fraud and a 51-year-old is detained on suspicion of fraud."
A forensic examination is continuing at the address.
