Man charged with murder of woman in Blackpool
Her body was found at an address on Redcar Road on Thursday morning
A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found dead in Blackpool. The body of Alison Dodds was discovered at a flat on Redcar Road at around 11am on Thursday.
A murder investigation was launched after post-mortem examination revealed that the 51 year old had died as a result of multiple serious injuries.
Yesterday a 35 year old man from Blackpool was arrested on suspicion of Alison's murder. In an update, officers have now confirmed that he has been charged. Alex Hindley, 35, of Redcar Road, has been remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates this morning.
Alison's family has paid tribute to her. In a statement released through police, they say: "We are shook up and upset that Alison has died in this way, it is not the way she should have gone and we all love her and miss her.”
Lancashire Police are continuing to appeal for information. They want to speak to anyone who saw anything on, or around, Redcar Road around the time of her death.
The force can be contacted on 101, quoting reference log 400 of September 21, 2023.
