Latitude: Thousands flock to Suffolk for first major full-capacity festival since Covid

Thousands will make their way to Henham Park in Suffolk from today for the Latitude Festival - the first major full capacity festival in the country since the pandemic began.
The four-day music and arts festival welcomes thousands of festival goers from all over the UK, running until Sunday 25 July.
Covid requirements
Those attending the festival must show proof of vaccination, a negative lateral flow test or proof of natural immunity - so a positive PCR test within 180 days when entering including 10 days of isolation.
Children under 11 years old are exempt from demonstrating their COVID-19 status.
Public Health England East (PHE) is reminding visitors to remember their health, safety and to be COVID aware.
Shylaja Thomas, Consultant in Health Protection, PHE East, said: “Although COVID restrictions have lifted, we need to be mindful that many of us have not been to a huge gathering of people for over 18 months.
Thomas added: “We want people to have a good time at this festival as well as other events that are due to be held across the East, and hope by following a few simple steps, everyone will benefit from us all protecting each other.”
Safety
Police have warned people about theft at the festival and have given advice such as staying in groups and making use of the property storage tent onsite.
Latitude festival work closely with Suffolk police and members of the security services, and they plan to follow best practice.
What's on?
The line-up includes musical acts such as Rudimental, Kaiser Chiefs, Mabel, Rick Astley and Declan McKenna.
There are also comedy acts including Katherine Ryan, Jo Brand, Simon Amstell and Reginald D Hunter.
The festival will also run live podcasts, theatre, visual arts workshops and late night DJs.
The festival welcomes all ages and has areas for children such as the Enchanted Garden, Inbetweeners Teen Area, Kids Area and Camp Greenpeace.
Festival Republic (owners of Latitude Festival) have been working in partnership with Attitude is Everything, with the aim to create an event that’s accessible for all.
Attitude is Everything is part of the Arts Council England’s National Portfolio of organisations, and aims to help improve deaf and disabled people’s access to live music.
