Glasses given by John Lennon at Abbey Road Studios to go on sale

A pair of glasses gifted by John Lennon are set to go on sale, expecting to fetch thousands of pounds.
Lennon had given the glasses to a young man who had been visiting Abbey Road studios on his birthday in 1968.
The man had been visiting the studios alongside his girlfriend when he saw the pair of glasses laying on a piano.
After going to pick the glasses up, his girlfriend told him not to touch them, to which Lennon said: "It's okay, he can have them."
It is not known who the original owners of the glasses were, though they are now being sold at auction alongside a number of black and white photographs.
The photos, taken between 1968 and 1969, were taken by the man who was gifted the glasses and feature the Beatles both as a band and individually.
According to the descriptions, some of the photos taken were caught on the same day as the famous "Abbey Road" album cover was shot, featuring the band walking across a zebra crossing.
Auctioneers at Catherine Southon have estimated the glasses to be worth as much as ÂŁ3,000, with the photos expected to be sold for between ÂŁ200 and ÂŁ300.
The glasses and photos will be sold at auction on July 31st in Farleigh Golf Club, Surrey.
