A funeral will be held on Thursday for Jack Lis, who died after being attacked by a dog in Caerphilly.

The ten-year-old boy from Pentwyn, Penyrheol, suffered "un-survivable" injuries during the attack, which happened while he was playing at a friend's house after school on November 8.

A service will be held in Caerphilly, following a procession of cars through the town.

A fundraiser to help pay for the funeral has also been set up on behalf of Jack's mother, Emma Whitfield, and has raised more than £16,000.

Ms Whitfield and Jack's father have described him as "the sweetest of boys", and said he had made them the "proudest parents".

They said their "lives will never be the same without Jack".

Adding: "We will forever miss his quirky ways and his stories that he would spend so long telling us."

A 28-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the dog attack, while Gwent Police are still working to identify the dog's breed, after officers put it down following the incident.
