West Yorkshire Police launch appeal after machete attack in Featherstone
Two men remain in hospital, one of whom is critically injured
West Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation following a machete attack in Featherstone that left one man critically injured.
Officers first received reports of an incident when staff from the Pontefract General Infirmary called police after two men had arrived with serious injuries.
Doctors at the hospital determined that the two men had been involved in an incident taking place at a petrol station on Wakefield Road.
Police arrived at the hospital at 1:43 a.m. on Saturday morning (July 20th) to find two men with serious injuries.
The victims remain in hospital receiving treatment for their wounds; one man remains in a critical condition.
An investigation into the attack was opened by West Yorkshire Police and enquiries are now ongoing, being carried out by Wakefield Criminal Investigation Department.
Officers are now appealing for information and witnesses to come forward as soon as possible to help with their enquiries.
In particular, police wish to speak to those who were at the petrol station on Wakefield Road at the time of the incident and may have dash cam footage to get in touch.
