Metropolitan Police officers have charged a woman with the murder of Efthyia Constantinou in Enfield.

Officers were alerted to an altercation that had been taking place at an address on Westerham Avenue just after 5pm on Thursday (October 31st).

Responders arrived on the scene and found Efthyia, aged 62, suffering from serious stab injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene to provide medical attention to the victim, but despite their best efforts, Efthyia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, officers have confirmed that 55-year-old Zaneta Peto, from Charles Street in Enfield, was charged with her murder.

Zaneta, who also goes by the name Maria Peto, was arrested on Friday (November 1st) and was later charged with Efthyia's murder.

She will appear before Highbury Magistrates' Court on Saturday (November 2nd) in connection with the death.

Speaking about the case, Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee from the Metropolitan Police said that investigations into the victim's death are ongoing.

"Our sincerest condolences are offered to Efthyia’s family, friends and the wider community who are so deeply saddened by her death," she said.

"The investigation is at an early stage, but I can confirm that Zaneta was known to the victim and that we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.

"Efthyia’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers."
