It's being reported that the Attorney General is to consider whether there should be a review into the sentences of two men who were found guilty of murdering a footballer on the dance floor of a Birmingham nightclub.

Cody Fisher, 23, was stabbed to death on Boxing Day 2022 in the Crane Nightclub in Digbeth.

Remy Gordon and Kami Carpenter were found guilty of his murder by a jury, and sentenced to life with a minimum of 26 years and 25 year.

It is now being reported that the Attorney General's Office has received a referral that the sentences were too lenient.

This means law officers have until May 6 to carry out a review and decide whether to refer the case to the Court of Appeal.
