6 year old boy seriously injured in M5 crash

The motorway was closed for a number of hours overnight

A six year old boy's been seriously injured in a crash on the M5 in Gloucestershire.

A Volkswagen camper van and a Peugeot 206 were involved at junction 11 northbound at 9.30pm on Saturday night (8th April)

The boy was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries where he remains.

The other occupants of the vehicles are believed to have sustained minor injuries.

Road closures were into place at junction 11 northbound and southbound before reopening at around 7am.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police.
